The Thirsty Drink Beer…The Hungry Drink Steinlager |
| |
Steinlager is a lager with a distinctive grassy note and clean crisp bitterness of green bullet hops. It is balanced with a dry astringent finish. It's made with New Zealand's finest ingredients making it unquestionably New Zealand's finest beer.
Steinlager was originally called Steinecker back in 1958, and since then has won international acclaim. By the end of the 1980's, Steinlager was being sold in more than 50 countries worldwide, becoming New Zealand's most internationally recognised beer brand.
In 1962, the name Steinecker was changed to Steinlager and it was about this time, that small quantities were beginning to drift off shore and Steinlager was steadily growing in popularity. In the late 70's, the look of Steinlager changed with the brown bottle being replaced with the green bottle we see today.
Steinlager is an icon of New Zealand that personifies the unique attitude that makes New Zealand successful. Steinlager has a number of New Zealand sponsorship properties including the New Zealand Golf Open and the America's Cup to name a few.
Today, Steinlager is internationally acclaimed, becoming New Zealand's leading export brand, enjoyed by millions from around the world and is well known as New Zealand's finest beer.
